DESCRIPTION
Skin cancer is the abnormal growth of skin cells. It most often develops on skin exposed to the sun. but this common form of cancer can also occur on areas of your skin not ordinarily exposed to sunlight. There are three major types of skin cancer – basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.
Symptoms –
A pearly or waxy bump
Flat, flesh colored car like lesion
Bleeding or scabbing sore
A firm red nodule
Flat lesion with scaly, crusted surface
Risk factors –
Fair skin
History of sunburns
Excessive sun exposure
Sunny or high altitude climates
Moles
Precancerous skin lesions
Family history
Weakened immune history
Exposure to radiation
Exposure to certain substances
