DESCRIPTION – cancer that forms in the tissues of the uterus (the small, hollow, pear-shaped organ in a woman’s pelvis where a fetus develops

METHODOLOGY – next generation sequencing (NGS)

TURN AROUND TIME – 7-10 days

PATIENT PREPARATION –

COLLECT – lavender (EDTA), pink (potassium EDTA) or serum separator tube

SPECIMEN PREPARATION – separate serum or plasma from the cells within 2 hours of collection and transfer the plasma in the transport tube

STORAGE/TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE – frozen or refrigerated

STABILITY – refrigerated: 72 hours; frozen: 2 weeks

UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION – hemolyzed specimens

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS – clinical history is mandatory
