RH INCOMPATIBILITY
DESCRIPTION
Rh incompatibility occurs when the mother’s blood type is Rh negative and her fetus blood type is Rh positive. Antibodies from a Rh negative mother may enter the blood stream of her unborn Rh positive infant, damaging the red blood cells.
Symptoms –

Lethargy
Low muscle tone
Risk factors – a woman who is Rh-negative is at risk for Rh incompatibility when she becomes pregnant. Rh incompatibility happens only when the father of the baby is Rh positive.
Diagnosis and test – a positive indirect coombs test is a sign of Rh incompatibility. This test uses a blood sample to look for the presence of cell destroying antibodies within the plasma of your blood
Treatment –
Blood transfusion
Hydrating fluids
Electrolytes
phototherapy
