    Symptoms –

    Pain or cramping in legs

    Loss of sense

    Change in shape of feet

    Loss of hair on your toes, feet and lower legs

    Dry and cracked skin

    Change in color and temperature of feet

    Thickened, yellow toenails

    Risk factors –

    Smoking

    Obesity

    Hypertension

    Poor ankle branchial index

    High neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio

    Diagnosis and test –

    Medical history and physical exam

    X-ray

    MRI scans

    Blood test

    Treatment –

    Cleaning the wound

    Draining any fluid or pus from the ulcers

    Removing or cutting the dead tissue

    Applying special bandages and ointments

    Use of wheelchair or crutches

    Oral or IV antibiotics
