DESCRIPTION – the breast and ovarian cancer comprehensive panel examines 25 genes associated with an increased risk for hereditary breast cancer and hereditary ovarian cancer

METHODOLOGY – next generation sequencing (NGS)

TURN AROUND TIME – 3-6 weeks

PATIENT PREPARATION –

COLLECT – lavender (EDTA) or yellow (ACD solution A or B)

SPECIMEN PREPARATION – transport 3 ml whole blood

STORAGE/TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE – refrigerated

STABILITY – ambient: 1 week; refrigerated: 1 month
