ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA

DESCRIPTION

A type of leukemia that comes on quickly ad is fast growing. In acute lymphoblastic leukemia, there are too many lymphoblast (immature white blood cells) in the blood and bone marrow. Also called acute lymphocytic leukemia or ALL.

Symptoms –

Bleeding from the gums

Bone pain

Fever

Frequent infections

Frequent nosebleeds

Lumps caused by swollen lymph nodes

Pale skin

Shortness of breath

Weakness, fatigue

Risk factors –

Previous cancer treatment

Exposure to radiation

Genetic disorder

Treatment –

Induction therapy

Consolidation therapy
