COLLECT – plain red or serum separator tube
SPECIMEN PREPARATION – separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 1 ml serum to transport tube
STORAGE/TRANSPORT TEMPERATURE – frozen
STABILITY – ambient: 48 hours; refrigerated: 5 days; frozen: 6 months
UNACCEPTABLE CONDITION – hemolyzed or lipemic specimens
